Childhood Apraxia of Speech Therapy Intensives

Play Works in treating Childhood Apraxia of Speech, using a multi-sensory approach which incorporates the principles of motor learning. Sarah McDonnell, MA CCC-SLP is recognized by the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America for Advanced Training & Clinical Expertise in the evaluation and treatment of CAS. She is a play advocate, holding steadfast to the research that children learn best when experiences are meaningful, and that children learn naturally through play.

An eclectic approach is taken and tailored to each child as no two children respond the same way to treatment. Evidence based practice approaches including Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and a multisensory approach (kinesthetic, tactile, auditory, visual cues) are utilized.

Schedule your child's 4-day, 1-week, or 2-week therapy intensive according to your family's needs.  Our program includes review of historical records, initial evaluation, two 45 minute therapy sessions per day, parent/caregiver training, and a written plan of treatment with individualized goals and activities to elicit speech targets. Typically a morning and afternoon session are scheduled for each day of the intensive (i.e. 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM)

A video speech sample and case history will be requested prior to acceptance into the program. Contact Sarah at info@gorgeplayworks.com for more information.

You may be able to use your outpatient therapy benefits to offset the cost of the program. If Play Works is not In-Network with your provider, we are happy to offer you the required documentation needed to seek insurance reimbursement.
