CAS Therapy Intensives

Play Works in treating Childhood Apraxia of Speech, using a multi-sensory approach which incorporates the principles of motor learning. Sarah McDonnell, MA CCC-SLP is recognized by the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America for Advanced Training and Clinical Expertise in the evaluation and treatment of CAS. She is a play advocate, holding steadfast to the research that children learn best when experiences are meaningful, and that children learn naturally through play.

An eclectic approach is taken and tailored to each child, as no two children respond the same way to treatment. Evidenced based approaches including Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) and a multi-sensory approach (kinesthetic, tactile, auditory, visual cues) are utilized.

Our programming includes review of historical records, initial assessment/consultation, and two treatment sessions per day for the duration of your child's intensive experience (4 days, 1-week, or 2-weeks). A video speech sample and case history will be requested prior to acceptance into the program.
